Battlefield 3 Some Destruction Scripted Say DICE
Posted on May 28, 2011 AT 07:34am

DICE has today detailed the three types of destruction that will appear in Battlefield 3 with set-pieces being largely scripted.
Modern Warfare 3 recently took yet another hit by it being revealed that all destruction in the game will be scripted unlike its main competitor Battlefield 3 which thanks to the Frostbite 2 engine will feature more dynamic destruction.
Battlefield 3 Art Director, Gustav Tilleby has admitted that not all of the destruction in Battlefield 3 will be dynamic.
“We have the ‘micro-destruction’ as we call it, which is basically
objects that are around the player like cover and so on, you can blow
holes through walls and stuff to open up new paths and move through
environments,”
“We also have the really big scale destruction like [building] facades
and stuff that can crumble and fall over, as well as set-piece
destruction – which is more or less scripted, big destruction events.”
