A fierce battle is set to begin this Autumn when Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 finally meet each other in game stores across the world but who will win?
The war began between the two companies at this years E3 when Bobby Kotick began calling into question Battlefield 3’s chance in the console market commenting that only PC footage had been shown so far.
EA’s boss Riccitiello then had some choice words of his own for Kotick stating that E3 2011 will be remembered as “the beginning of the war” and that Kotick “recognises [Activision’s] going to be threatened”.
“We’re going to have a clash of the titans this fall, the very fact that he’s trying to cast doubt on our game is a
perfect example of how we got his goat. In terms of where this goes, we
think our PS3 game is better than their Xbox game and our PC game is
better than their PC game.
“If that’s all he’s got to say, it’s obviously going to evaporate as we
launch all three. If you went to our press conference, you saw the PS3
footage and the Xbox footage. If Bobby thinks that is PC footage, he’s
in real trouble.”
Bobby Kotick’s PA was then seen at E3 being turned away by EA representatives after asking if he would be able to try the game out.
DICE gameplay designer Gustav Halling then had a few choice words to say about Kotick’s actions at the show.
“Well, he wasn’t on our invited list so he have to stay in line as everyone else at E3 =) EA said No to Kotick .”
“They think they can go in unannounced before the hundreds of people queuing? =) We have invited people only who can do that.”
“We were blocked last year at E3, Gamescom so this is a mutual experience between rivals 😛 Dont care much about it.”
Come this Autumn we will finally get to see who will win when the two games go head to head.
