Even though some of us are excitedly pouring over any halfway-plausible Battlefield 4 rumors that we see, EA wants to remind you that you shouldn’t believe anything you read. That is, unless it’s coming straight from the source.
To further emphasize the point, EA went to the Battlefield blog to lay down some hard, cold facts about the upcoming Battlefield 4 Beta event that was inadvertently revealed by a leaked poster on Origin, then re-confirmed as part of a Limited Edition Medal of Honor Warfighter promotion. Right off the bat, the good news is that the BF4 Beta will kick off next year.
And the bad news? Well, the Battlefield 4 Beta doesn’t kick off until next year—that’s 2013, which is more than five months away.
But it’s not like you won’t have plenty to do in the meantime. If you’re not constantly hitting “refresh” on your keyboard to get news about the upcoming sequel, there’s still plenty more content coming up for Battlefield 3:
- We are committed to providing an excellent Battlefield 3 experience well into the future , past the releases of Aftermath, End Game, and Battlefield 4. DICE is continuing its work on Battlefield 3 alongside Battlefield 4.
- Most importantly, official details regarding Battlefield 4 will always be made available on Battlefield.com and here on the Battlefield Blog. We expect that the level of interest in Battlefield 4 will lead to a lot of speculation and rumor – don’t fall for it!
Speaking of extra content, EA also revealed some tidbits about the “Armored Kill” expansion pack, such as players being able to spawn from gunships, 20 new vehicle unlocks, a new tank-centric game mode, and five new vehicles (mobile artillery, tank destroyers, ATVs) to commandeer. BF3‘s player cap is staying at 24 on consoles, though, so kudos to you PC users.
