DICE general manager Karl Magnus says they are “very interested” in getting involved with eSports for Battlefield 4.
In an interview appearing on Luetin09’s YouTube page, Magnus said, “We definitely see Battlefield—especially the multiplayer component of it—as a very competitive part of the game, of course. And multiplayer is the heart of any Battlefield game that we do. That won’t change moving forward.”
According to Troedsson, getting DICE is “definitely going to see what we can do” with Battlefield 4 and eSports.
Can’t say it comes as much of a surprise that Call of Duty’s biggest competitor would also want in on the growing eSports scene. And considering Battlefield 3’s sales numbers, something I imagine the eSports arena would like to incorporate as well.
