Battlefield 4 on Xbox One Will Use Kinect for Leaning from Cover, Voice Commands

Posted on November 6, 2013 AT 01:13pm

Battlefield 4 will make use of the Xbox One’s Kinect for leaning from cover and voice commands, Polygon reports.

Through head-tracking, Battlefield 4 will follow the real-world leaning of a player’s head and translate that into peaks from cover in the game itself. Similarly, multiplayer needs like having to call for a medic, ask for ammo, cancel requests, and engage in certain social interactions (such as asking for a ride or expressing gratitude) can be performed through voice commands.

Normally, leaning from cover requires contextually issued button presses in Battlefield 4.

Out now for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, Battlefield 4 launches on PS4 and Xbox One November 12 in North America (November 29 in Europe) and November 19 respectively.
