The rent-a-server feature for the console versions of Battlefield 4 has now started rolling out, DICE announced in a blog post.
The program allows players to rent servers and dictate their settings, such as private or public, map, game mode, and more. Servers are available to rent for $1.49 for one day, $6.99 for seven days, $24.99 for 30 days, and $59.99 for 90 days. To see your rented servers simply head to the ”My Rented Servers” option in the multiplayer menu.
“Please note that this is a soft launch of the Rent-A-Server program. This means that we initially will have a limited amount of servers,” the developer warned. “We will however increase the numbers gradually when we see that everything is running as intended.”
At the time of writing, the rent-a-server option has been disabled on Xbox One due to rental time issues. “We have identified rental time issues with the Rent-a-Server Program release on Xbox One and have temporarily removed the feature as we investigate,” DICE explained. “The servers which were already rented will still be available for play, but admins may not be able to access all the management features at this time. As soon as a fix is in place we will announce its availability.”
