THE BUZZ: EA has pulled Battlefield: Aftershock from the App store after a number of complaints from and negative reviews from users.

Customers have been complaining aboutt he game’s controls, crashes, lag and various other issues. The game currently sits on a rating on 2.5/5 stars. The free app was removed and EA issued the following statement:

“EA Mobile is committed to delivering mobile entertainment experiences that are on par with the content and quality users have come to expect from their favorite EA gaming brands.

“To this end, we have decided to remove Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store and are currently re-evaluating the app in response to the consumer feedback we’ve received. We thank all the fans who have downloaded the game to date.”

A more comprehensive iOS Battlefield game is set to replace it later this year.

EGM’s TAKE: We’re surprised they even allowed something like this to make it onto the App store in the first place. The game looked like it had taken mobile gaming back several years and the reviews have echoed this. When you look at some of the games iOS developers are coming out this is way below par. Hopefully EA will come back with a game worthy of the Battlefield name that will please fans and critics alike.
