Battlefield Hardline bumped back to ‘early 2015’ launch window

Posted on July 22, 2014 AT 01:51pm

Hot on the heels of Dragon Age’s delay, publisher EA today announced that Battlefield Hardline’s launch would also be postponed.

According to DICE vice president and group general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson, Battlefield Hardline developer Visceral Games “learned a lot from players about what they wanted in the game” during the beta, and after going over the feedback and data, decided to sacrifice and earlier release date to “push Hardline innovation further.”

Specifically, Troedsson says the extra time will allow Visceral to add new features, as recommended by the community, to the multiplayer, polish the “core features” while adding new ones to the single-player story, and optimize the game’s balance and stability (read: avoid another Battlefield 4 fiasco with servers).

“We are doing all of this for one reason,” Troedsson wrote on the Battlefield Blog. “Because we want Battlefield Hardline to be the best game it can be, and so that we can create the best environment for a smooth launch for our players.”

Battlefield Hardline was originally set to launch across Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 October 21 in North America, October 24 in Europe.
