Visceral has announced the first ever Battlefield Hardline community challenge for the currently ongoing beta on PC and PlayStation 4.

EA sprung the unexpected announcement of a closed beta yesterday during its E3 2014 press conference. If you’re interested in joining you can sign up for the beta here.

The first challenge requires the Hardline beta community to collectively perform 250,000 stun gun takedowns before June 16 at 9:00 a.m. PDT. Doing so will unlock a unique in-game patch that will be distributed once the game launches. At the time of writing 1,988 takedowns have been performed.

“The Battlefield Hardline closed beta is in full swing and players from all over the world have thrown themselves into the all-out cops and criminals warfare,” the developer wrote. “As you know, Battlefield is all about team play, and now we have the ultimate cooperative challenge for you: the very first Battlefield Hardline community mission.”

Battlefield Hardline is set to launch on October 21 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
