DICE has outlined the new content that will be coming to Battlefield V in Chapter 3 and 4, and teased Chapter 5.

The roadmap kicks off today with the release of the game’s battle royale mode called Firestorm. This new mode takes place on the largest Battlefield map in history and features a ring of fire that will slowly close in as the game progresses. Firestorm will be improved over the coming months, with plans to add Duos for a limited time in April.

Following in April will be an update for Combined Arms that will introduce matchmaking, two new missions, and a hardcore mode. Chapter 3: Trial By Fire will also also add the Mercury map, which is based on the real-life events of Operation Mercury, in May, and a new mode called Outpost in June. In this new mode players must “secure and build objectives to ensure your team assembles enough soldiers to endure through the fight.”

Next up is the start of Chapter 4: Defying the Odds in June. The highlight of this chapter is a new close-quarters mode that sees 10 players fighting in 5v5 matches and also includes a new urban map. As well as this, the Marita multiplayer map is coming as part of this chapter. This new map is set in Greece in late 1940 and “takes place along the mountain side overlooking a river, with ambient war from the ongoing conflict in the valley below echoing alongside you.” More details about Chapter 4 will be shared in the run-up to EA Play in June.

Finally, Chapter 5 is due to release this fall, with the developer telling players to “get ready for a land, air, and sea invasion in a completely new theater of war.” No further details about the upcoming chapter were shared.

Battlefield V is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
