Bayonetta 2’s “Tag Climax” online co-op mode will let players bet on who can rack up the highest score, according to Famitsu (translated by Siliconera).
The online multiplayer, which Nintendo and developer Platinum Games revealed during E3, will allow players to team up with their friends or be paired up with random players or a CPU partner to combat waves of enemies or put down massive boss beasts. With quick matches, however, players will be able to bet Bayonetta 2’s in-game currently, “Halos,” to see who can rake in the most points. Said money can then be used to unlock new techniques and cosmetic mods.
Bayonetta 2 is slated to launch on Wii U this October in North America and Europe. Retail copies will include the original Bayonetta, which launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.
