The BBC has today relaunched the iPlayer on the PS3 with a brand new look.
The new player is said to be designed specifically for the living room and is meant to make the iPlayer experience “feel just like TV”.
Improvements include a new friendly design, improved search functionality, the ability to mark your favourite shows, view previous search results and go straight back to the last programme watched.
The new look iPlayer launches today on the PS3 and will be coming to other devices soon.
Daniel Danker, BBC’s General Manager for Programmes and On Demand said;
“BBC iPlayer has been tremendously successful. With today’s
announcement, we’re transforming iPlayer in its most natural home: right
on the living room TV. By creating a product that’s as simple and
intuitive as flicking through TV channels, the BBC is bringing on demand
television to mainstream audiences across the UK.”
