BBC ‘Working to Bring’ iPlayer to Xbox One

Posted on November 11, 2013 AT 07:10am

The BBC has confirmed that it is working on a version of its iPlayer app for Xbox One, following Microsoft’s announcement of the console’s launch window entertainment apps.

“iPlayer is already available to audiences on over 1000 devices and platforms in the UK,” a BBC spokesperson told Digital Spy. “While we are working to bring BBC iPlayer to Xbox One in the future, we have no further details to share at this time.”

The ITV Player and Sky Go apps will also miss the Xbox One launch in the UK, but 4OD and 5 on Demand will be available. Other apps available at launch include Amazon LoveFilm, Blinkbox, Crackle, Eurosport, Machinima, MUZU TV, Netflix, Now TV, TED, Twitch, and Wuaki.tv.
