BBC Would Love To Bring The iPlayer To Xbox Live

The BBC has revealed that it would “love” to bring their iPlayer service to Xbox Live.
The service is available for free on the Wii and PS3 however it is still missing from Microsoft’s console.
It is believed that the reason Microsoft will not allow the iPlayer on the Xbox 360 is due to the BBC wanting to offer it for free to all users and not just as part of the Xbox Live Gold subscription.
The BBC’s General Manager For Programs and On Demand Daniel Danker told TechRadar;
“We want to be on as many devices as possible. Of course we’d love to be
on the Xbox because we want to get the iPlayer to as many licence
payers as possible, which is pretty much everyone in the UK.”
“We want to be on the cheapest level that you can have on Xbox, and not only for [Xbox Live] Gold subscribers.”
