New Skullgirls combatant Beowulf will arrive on PS3 for free this Friday, Lab Zero Games CEO Peter Bartholow announced on the PlayStation Blog.
Bartholow also provided an update on the PS4 and Vita versions of Skullgirls, revealing that they’d received a rebranding: Skullgirls 2nd Encore.
“Since these versions will be the ultimate Skullgirls experience, with all the new characters, new modes, and features, we wanted to differentiate it a bit from Skullgirls Encore, while also making it similar,” Bartholow wrote.
And while Skullgirls 2nd Encore will support cross-platform play on all three PlayStation systems and support cross-buy for PS4 and Vita, Lab Zero Games decided that all the work put into 2nd Encore couldn’t justify just handing all its content out to PS3 users for free, so existing Skullgirls Encore players on PS3 will need to purchase 2nd Encore independently.
As for the final Skullgirls DLC character, work on Robo-Fortune, Bartholow says, “is almost complete.”
