Bethesda – Is Skyrim as Big an Advancement as Oblivion?

THE BUZZ: Todd Howard, Director on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has said that he’s not sure if Skyrim is as bigger leap as Oblivion was from Morrowind.

He told PC Gamer magazine, that the reason for him feeling this is due to the technological gap being smaller than between the third and fourth installments of the series. “Hard to say… I have a hard time looking at it that way. I think it’s close. I don’t know that I would say it’s as large a leap, just because the technology gap between Morrowind and Oblivion was greater,” he said. “The number of gameplay changes and things like that are probably on the same level.”

EGM’s TAKE: We don’t care if the change isn’t as large, Skyrim still looks amazing.
