THE BUZZ: Bethesda has issued its first public comments about the firms ongoing legal dispute with Minecraft developer Mojang over the Scrolls trademark.
“This is a business matter based on how trademark law works and it will continue to be dealt with by lawyers who understand it, not by me or our developers,” Pete Hines, VP of Public Relations at Bethesda, told said. ”Mojang’s public comments have not given a complete picture as it relates to their filings, our trademarks, or events that have taken place. Nobody here enjoys being forced into this. Hopefully it will all be resolved soon.”
EGM’s TAKE: This is one of those disputes that is going to get dragged out for quite a while, as neither side appears to be backing down.
Do you think Mojang should just change the name of their game? Leave your thoughts below.
