THE BUZZ: As wonderful of an experience as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been for many players, one group in particular hasn’t been having a good time: PS3 owners.
That’s because the PS3 version of Skyrim has been shown to suffer immense issues with game-breaking lag as players get further along into the game. Now, however, Bethesda’s official Twitter account has made a statement claiming that a fix for this issue will soon be on its way.
In response to Twitter member denisvj asking about the PS3 lag issues, the @Bethblog account stated the following:
We’re addressing that in the 1.4 update planned for this month
EGM’s TAKE: As by far the most vocal critic when it comes to consumer rights on EGM’s staff, I’ve had a number of arguments with my fellow staff members about how I personally felt Skyrim shouldn’t be receiving the “Best Game of 2011″ awards that it did at this point. Is it a great game? Absolutely—but it’s also one that is painfully broken on one of its three platforms.
I really, truly hope that this upcoming v1.4 update fixes the issues Skyrim has been suffering on the PS3, so that players on that platform can finally experience the engrossing world of action and adventure that Xbox 360 and PC played have been enjoying since the game’s release.
