Back in January, a prominent streamer started a rumor that Beyond Good & Evil 2 would not only be coming to the Nintendo Switch, but that it would also be a timed exclusive, getting the game a year before it reached other consoles.

Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The game’s website is currently offering fans the opportunity to sign up for a tester program, and in the process is asking them what platform they prefer — Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC.

Notice the absence of Nintendo Switch as an option.

That doesn’t mean that the game won’t be coming to Switch at all, but given that Ubisoft seems to be developing the game for the three more powerful platforms, that might be bad news for Nintendo fans who were looking forward to having a big third-party timed exclusive on their console of choice.

Additionally, if what we’re hearing about the scope of the game since its reveal at E3 2017 is even remotely true, there’s a good chance that the Nintendo Switch might not be able to handle the game at all.

That being said, if he's a fanboy, he's a fanboy for the game industry as a whole. Spit white-hot fanboy hate at him, trash talk his Gold II rank on Rocket League, or maybe just send him a cordial hello on Twitter @gogogoroff.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 may have revealed which platforms it’s coming to

There's a significant console missing from BG&E2's test program.
