This week has been something of a rollercoaster ride for Nintendo Switch owners looking forward to Ubisoft’s Beyond Good and Evil 2. First, there were rumors that the game would be an exclusive (or at least a timed exclusive) for Nintendo’s newest console, some of which even predated the game’s official reveal. Then, director Michel Ancel discounted that idea on social media, and sign-ups for the game’s tester program only included Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC as options—no Switch at all.

However, a tweet from the Ubisoft Spain account—since removed by spotted by VG 24/7 while it was still live—gives Nintendo fans a reason to hope. “Beyond Good & Evil 2 para PC, PS4, Xbox One y Nintendo Switch,” the tweet read.

Now, this is far from official confirmation, and it could have easily been a miscommunication or a mix-up. For what it’s worth, Ancel has stated publicly that no platforms have actually been officially confirmed yet, despite the sign-up form for the test program. Given how early the game is in development, the team at Ubisoft Montpellier may not even know which systems the game will end up on. And the insane technology and ambitious design may make any Switch version of a bit of struggle.

Still, for fans of the first Beyond Good & Evil, the idea that a sequel would be announced 15 years later probably seemed impossible, too. A little hope never hurt anyone.
