Beyond Good and Evil 2 may be resurfacing as a Nintendo NX exclusive, if a report from Destructoid turns out to be true.
According to Maier, the game has the working title of Beyond Good and Evil: The Prejudices of Philosophers. The new subtitle apparently takes its name from the first chapter of Friedrich Nietzsche’s book Beyond Good and Evil, after which the first game was named. Maier says the game would be set to release in 2017.
This wouldn’t be the first time Nintendo’s picked up a sequel to a popular game and transformed it into a Nintendo-console exclusive. Nintendo announced the acquisition of Bayonetta 2 in 2012 and released it exclusively for the Wii U in 2014.
There’s no official confirmation from Nintendo or Ubisoft yet, though Ubisoft’s dropped enough teasers over the past few years to prove that Beyond Good and Evil 2 hasn’t been forgotten.
