Beyond: Two Souls Has Co-Op Multiplayer and Companion App

Posted on August 21, 2013 AT 05:02am

Beyond: Two Souls is getting co-op multiplayer and a companion app, which turns tablets into controllers, Quantic Dream founder David Cage revealed at Gamescom.

One player takes control of Jodi Holmes, the main protagonist, and the other Aiden, the entity tethered to her. Players pass control by pressing triangle. Players can also use the game’s companion app, entitled “Beyond Touch,” to control a character on the screen using their tablet instead of a controller. There are no icons on the tablet screen, no buttons or sticks, players simply slide their finger around the screen to make the character move. The game switches to easy mode when the tablet is being used.

Cage added that the touchscreen mode is a way of getting casual players into the game who aren’t used to using controllers.
