Big 3DS Firmware Update Dated for Europe

THE BUZZ: A somewhat major firmware update is coming for the 3DS, and today, that update’s release date for Europe was confirmed.
On November 4th, the firmware update will bring with it the ability to record 3D videos, an improved eShop, better methods for joining friends playing games (for titles that support the feature, such as the upcoming Mario Kart 7), and various improvements to the StreetPass functions of the 3DS.
EGM’s TAKE: While this announcement is only for Europe, it’s pretty likely that this’ll be the date that all territories get the firmware update.
There are still other things I really wish Nintendo would address via an update—like, say, giving the 3DS a proper communication system between people, or at least something like PictoChat that we had back on the DS. At times, PictoChat was the best part of the DS. I can’t believe Nintendo dropped it.
