BioShock 2, DLC, and Minerva’s Den Expansion Added to Steam

Posted on October 4, 2013 AT 10:28am

The Windows PC version of BioShock 2 and all of its DLC have been stripped of their Games for Windows Live content and added to Steam, 2K Games announced.

BioShock 2‘s Steam release includes all the multiplayer DLC—Sinclair Solutions Test Pack, Rapture Metro Map Pack, Kill ‘Em Kindly, the Character pack—as well as the single-player add-ons, including BioShock 2‘s most important addition, Minerva’s Den, a short-ish single-player campaign designed by the team responsible for Gone Home.

The Steam release also adds Steam Achievements, Big Picture mode, and controller compatibility. Through the help of Digital Extremes, 2K Games has also improved multiplayer matchmaking and leveling.

For those who already purchased BioShock 2 for Windows PC, you can grab the Steam version—and all of the DLC content—for free by plugging your original activation key into Steam.

Normally priced at $19.99, BioShock 2 is currently on sale until Monday, October 7 for $9.99. Minerva’s Den is also on fifty percent off, marked down to $4.99.

Developed primarily by 2K Marin, BioShock 2 originally debuted on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in February 2010 and introduced the dual-hand gameplay mechanic that carried over into BioShock Infinite. The game is set 8 years after the events of the original BioShock.
