THE BUZZ: 2K Games has announced the official release date of Bioshock Infinite.

The shooter will launch October 16 in the U.S. and March 19 in Europe, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

“After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition,” said Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine. “BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.”

EGM’s TAKE: The suspense has been killing us, now we finally have a date that we can start hyping over. We’ve already circled it on our calendars and will continue to frantically cross off the days. It seems so far away. Members of the team are feverishly working on creating a time machine as I type this. We’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
