BioShock Infinite’s strange future scene was scrap material from another game

Gamasutra recently talked to BioShock creator Ken Levine, and he revealed an interesting fact about one of the more unusual scenes shown for BioShock Infinite.
At one point, one of the tears Elizabeth creates takes the players into a strange 1980s-esque setting, with streetlights, neon, and a movie theater playing Revenge of the Jedi. (Obviously an homage to the fake name for Return of the Jedi.)
Levine told Gamasutra that, originally, that scene was supposed to transport the player to a “primeval forest kind of thing”, but in trying it that setting just didn’t have enough of an impact.
So, instead, they used the city street scene, which came from assets that from a another game Irrational had been working on but killed.
“[Reviving it] was such a better idea than the idea we were building all these assets for,” Levine told Gamasutra. “We made a bunch of changes to really sell it, but we had all those assets just sitting around from a game we never shipped.”
