THE BUZZ: BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka has responded to Mass Effect 3 fan’s anger over the game’s ending in an open letter.
Muzyka mentioned that the team is surprised by the reaction of its loyal fans. He states that the entire staff respects the opinions of the community, however it has no time for those who choose to be destructive and personally attack members of the team.
In response to fans, he says that ”exec producer Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey.”
The full letter can be read here.
EGM’s TAKE: At least BioWare isn’t completely changing the game’s ending, that would have just made the whole situation a joke. They’ve taken the most sensible option in light of the circumstances. Fans wanted answers and it looks like they are going to get them, and even some more gameplay to enjoy in the process. Remaining stubborn in this situation would have only angered an already irate fanbase, which is something no developer wants or needs. They stuck to their guns just long enough, but when the voices get too loud you can’t just ignore them.
