Now you may be thinking, an MMO is adding achievements so what? Well just hold your horses for a second because these are Legacy Achievements, a whole different ball game.

Instead of the usual per character achievements that most MMOs offer, BioWare is using Star Wars: The Old Republic‘s Legacy system to track achievements across all of your characters. This allows you to earn achievement progress no matter which charcter you wish to play with, and what’s even better is that you only have to unlock each one once.

Veterans will also be pleased to hear that a lot of achievements will be back dated and awarded upon logging in to 2.0. Only achievements that require killing a certain number of mobs or ones that can’t be tracked via codec entries will be locked.
