Mass Effect

A behind-the-scenes video from BioWare shown at EA’s E3 2014 press conference offers the briefest glimpse at the new Mass Effect title and reveals BioWare Edmonton has a new IP in the works.

Very little in the way of new information is provided, but there are enough hints to gain a better idea of what’s in store for us in the next Mass Effect. While touching upon the influence of player input, the team at BioWare mentioned how players wanted to “move forward” and explore “new places” with “new characters” within the Mass Effect universe. According to one of the developers, the next Mass Effect game will be set in “a whole new region of space.”

As for BioWare Edmonton’s new IP, almost nothing beyond its existence was revealed other than the studio’s desire to tell  “contemporary stories” through it.

Throughout the video, however, conceptual prototype footage and shots of the new Mass Effect can be seen.
