BioWare has revealed that Mass Effect 3 will end the story of Commander Shepard but it won’t end the franchise.
BioWare CEO Ray Mazuka told PCGamer;
“We have ambitious plans to continue this franchise going forward. Mass Effect 3 is simultaneously a couple of different things; a thrilling and epic conclusion to the trilogy as we promised our fans we’d provide for Commander Shepard, but it’s also a brand new beginning – it’s an entry point for new fans and it’s also a brand new beginning.”
When Producer Michael Gamble was asked if this would be the end of Commander Shepard’s story he replied;
“Yes, after this, Commander Shepard’s story is complete.”
Gamble then went on to confirm that Shepard would not be in any future games set in the Mass Effect Universe.
Would you like to see more of Shepard or should BioWare bring a new character into the universe?
