Now that we know Mass Effect 4 is coming, the question is when is it coming—and as to that, BioWare has given Mass Effect fans a rough idea.

That was the question posed to the Mass Effect team at BioWare in an interview over on GamerSyndrome—if they could give a rough idea of the release window for the game. Here was the response:

“Late 2014 to Mid 2015. I honestly can’t tell you an exact because full development on the game started a month or two ago.”

While it wouldn’t be unexpected in any way, a release like that would almost certainly put Mass Effect 4 on the next generation of consoles. Not that it’s impossible for Xbox 360 and PS3 games to still be released at that point, mind you—but even if the next Xbox and PlayStation don’t launch until early 2014, that would mean Mass Effect 4 would be coming in right as those console are really alight in hype.

Having the start of a new chapter of the Mass Effect franchise on store shelves for new console owners just makes too much sense.

Update: Well, it turns out that there was something fishy going on with the GamerSyndrome interview. Here is the response EA gave to the interview, and GamerSyndrome’s clarification.
