BioWare Responds to Black Ops 2/Mass Effect 2 PC Disc Error By Offering Free Games

Posted on November 14, 2012 AT 02:24am

Some Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 users were incredibly angry yesterday when they went to install disc 2 of their PC copies only to discover that the disc was actually a copy of Mass Effect 2, well BioWare has decided to use this mix-up as a great publicity move in its favor by offering some free games.

BioWare posted a blog about the mishap stating that the first 50 people who have been affected by the disc 2 error will be offered a free copy of the Mass Effect Trilogy. Users must send a photo of the second disc and a photo of the computer screen proving that it’s a Mass Effect 2 disc to be eligible for a code. Details on where to send the photos can be found here.

“Rumor has it that about a thousand customers who purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC today were also treated to a surprise copy of Mass Effect 2. If you were one of the affected, chances are you thought it was a mistake, but we prefer to think that it was an omen, and when the universe talks, you should listen.

If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue? In fact, we want to help!”
