Gamers that were blown away by the reveal of Bioware’s Anthem at this year’s E3 will be happy to hear that a beta is planned for the action game—just not any time soon.
The questionable quality of Bioware’s previous title, Mass Effect: Andromeda, has some fans apprehensive about the studio’s future prospects. Following game director Jonathan Warner’s recent presence on Twitter, one fan suggested that, if Anthem wasn’t tested in a beta, it wouldn’t survive, particularly considering the cancellation of Andromeda‘s beta. The game director confirmed in a response to the tweet that Anthem would indeed support a beta.
Yeah we’ll have a beta! #PrepareForAdventure

No other details on the beta were offered. While we don’t even have a general release window, Warner did follow the tweet up with a comment that the beta is still “a distance out,” which is the cause for the current lack of specifics.
The current release date for Anthem is also fairly undetermined, with its PS4, Xbox One, and PC launch expected no earlier than fall 2018. Despite still being a ways out, Anthem‘s E3 2017 gameplay demo was substantial, leading many fans to pick it apart for clues.
