Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will remove region-based matchmaking in favor of matches made based on latency and ping according to Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar.
“Yes. It is in and being tested. Not region based anymore. Latency/ping based exclusively,” he wrote on Twitter in response to a fan. Hopefully this change will result in less drop outs and host migrations, something that has plagued Call of Duty‘s online component for many years.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is scheduled to release November 13 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
