THE BUZZ: Activision’s official site for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has just gone live, confirming the game’s name and release date.

Black Ops 2 will release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 13. The pre-order page reads:

“Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare.”

The site also has a link to the game’s reveal trailer, however it is inactive at the moment. It is set to air during the Basketball Playoffs on TNT later today, and the link will likely go live after that.

You can check out the game’s official box below.

EGM’s TAKE: Well it’s finally official, Black ops 2 is the name of the next Call of Duty. A 21st Century Cold War is an interesting choice of setting, not only does it give them a chance to host massive battles in whichever part of the world they like, but it will also allow for a setting similar to Modern Warfare. Will this near-future era allow Treyarch to finally stretch its legs and prove it can create the best Call of Duty title? Can they surpass Infinity Ward and Modern Warfare? The debut trailer later today will help give us an idea.

You can visit the official website via this link.

What are you hoping will be included in Black Ops 2? Can it surpass Modern Warfare 3? Let us know in the comments below.
