Call of Duty Black Ops 2

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will feature a host of theater options including the ability to stream matches directly to YouTube, Treyarch has announced.

The ability to stream matches is nothing new to fans, but until now the developer has kept quiet about how it will actually do it. YouTube has been announced as the official partner and players will have the option to stream matches from their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 directly to YouTube, there’s no news on PC or Wii U support.

“With our competitive play and eSports initiatives, we wanted to deliver live streaming capabilities built right into Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, because Call of Duty is not only fun and exciting to play, but we believe it will be just as exciting to watch,” said Treyarch head Mark Lamia. “By making the capability of live streaming as accessible as possible to our fans, straight from a player’s console without the need for any additional hardware or sophisticated setups, we are empowering our fans to share their multiplayer experiences.”

This will alleviate the issue of capture cards, drivers and other problems that streamers have to contend with. However, Activision did mention that there will be certain limitations and restrictions in place with the service, what these are though is unknown. The publisher also mentioned that other streaming services may be added in the future.
