Call of Duty

Our band of misfit zombie killers have returned in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops III expansion Zombies Chronicles, and the DLC’s official gameplay trailer offers a fresh look at their old antics.

The trailer includes gameplay from the eight remastered maps coming in the expansion, taking fans back to some of their favorite zombie killing arenas like the Moon, Shangri-La, and more. Apart from the unique traps and enemies making a comeback in the remastered maps, the trailer confirms that maps will feature a mix new Black Ops III weapons and older Call of Duty firearms. Judging by the footage, the old weapons will presumably be isolated to the respective maps on which they were available the first time around.

The gameplay trailer follows a recent story trailer that reminded us of the complex narrative lying just below the surface of the Zombies saga. Just like with the gameplay, the story will be faithfully recreated in the remastered maps, although a little something new will be hidden away for returning fans. Black Ops III players across all platforms will also get to enjoy Treyarch’s “8 Days of the Undead” event, which offers bonuses like new content and double experience for eight days following the expansion’s release.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III‘s Zombies Chronicles expansion drops May 16th on PlayStation 4, with an Xbox One and PC release expected to follow a month later. The expansion is available for digital pre-order right now on the PlayStation Store, going for $29.99.
