THE BUZZ: Activision has released a major update for Black Ops: Zombies on iOS, adding a new map and several weapons.

The new map is the fan favorite Ascension, featuring zombie monkeys, soviet zombies and several killer traps. The weapons include the Thunder Gun, Matroyshka dolls, Gersh Device and the Sickle.

You’ll also receive 5000 CoD Points for returning to the game and several new achievements are available to unlock. Game update 1.2.0 also adds a number of fixes and optimizations.

EGM’s TAKE: If you’re sitting on a train and you suddenly get an itch to kill some zombies, you could wait for the apocalypse and start polishing your gun, or you could just as easily download this app from the App Store. Fans of the Black Ops mode will find no real difference in this handheld version and should love it every bit as much. When you here the words zombie and monkey being thrown around together, you know it has to be good.
