Blizzard has announced that it will be making some changes to itemization in Diablo III over the coming months.

The first part of this change is to equate rarity with power–Legendary items will drop less frequently, but will be a lot more powerful. “It will take time, but our goal is to try to provide players with compelling alternatives to trifecta items when talking about what items they want to acquire,” said game designer Travis Day.

Other changes include reducing the drop rate on rare items, giving players more reason to farm mobs, and making gold sinks more fun.
