EGM’s TAKE: One of the things I most think about when it comes to Blizzard DOTA is how for years I had absolutely no idea what “DOTA” even was until I finally broke down and went looking on Wikipedia.

For those who are like me, it’s Defense of the Ancients—a custom scenario that was created years ago for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. The game then spawned an entire sub-genre of real-time strategy games, inspiring projects such as this and Valve’s upcoming DOTA 2.
