It’s been a month since Blizzard’s now-infamous Diablo Immortal announcement at BlizzCon. Announcing a mobile Diablo game to a room full of passionate PC gamers hungry for Diablo 4 led to fan backlash of the worst kind, including developers being booed, one player asking if the announcement was an April Fools’ joke, and the now-infamous “Don’t you guys have phones?” quote. It’s been a rough month for Blizzard and Blizzard fans alike.
All hope isn’t lost, however, as Blizzard has now announced more plans for the Diablo series that will be revealed in 2019.
“We continue to read feedback and our internal discussions are ongoing,” the Diablo team wrote on the official Blizzard forums. “We have many plans for Diablo across multiple projects which we’ll be revealing over the course of the coming year.”
In the aftermath of the disastrous BlizzCon, Blizzard did confirm that Diablo 4 is being worked on. This announcement implies that there may be more than just Diablo Immortal and Diablo 4 in the works. It also hints that we may be getting word fairly soon, though as of early November, Blizzard had no definite plans of when to announce its next games.
As of right now, the infamous Diablo Immortal is the only game we know any concrete facts about. The mobile game is in development for Android and iOS.
