Blizzard has stated that it isn’t “currently considering” a switch to free-to-play for its massively successful MMO World of Warcraft, despite falling subscription numbers.
“We didn’t make the game to be free-to-play,” production director J Allen Brack told Eurogamer. ”We would have to rework the game pretty significantly in order to make it free-to-play. It’s not something we’re currently considering.”
Last week Blizzard boss Mike Morhaime announced that World of Warcraft had lost another 100,000 subscribers over the last three months, dropping to 7.6 million.
