Blizzard Offers an Update on Diablo III’s PvP Mode
Posted on December 28, 2012 AT 07:06am

Blizzard has finally offered an update on the state of PvP development in Diablo III, and it’s not exactly good news.
The team has decided to completely scrap the original Team Deathmatch idea that has been in development for months. The reason for this was that it simply wasn’t working–the mode relied too much on class balance, and Blizzard simply didn’t want PvP to force changes on PvE. On top of this, Lead Designer Jay Wilson also mentioned that there wasn’t enough incentive for players to take part in more than a couple of matches.
Wilson added that the team is working on implementing a dueling system in the new year. He also revealed that work has begun on a brand new PvP mode which will focus more on objectives, and “possibly even integrate PvE elements and rewards.”
