BlizzCon Goes AFK in 2012

THE BUZZ: Looking forward to attention BlizzCon this year and getting your fill of gaming-by-Blizzard goodness? Unfortunately, we’ve got bad news for you.
EGM’s TAKE: No BlizzCon this year? That’s impossible, right?
Love it or hate it, that is indeed the case, as Blizzard announced that “in light of our jam-packed schedule, we’ve decided to hold the next BlizzCon in 2013.”
While it isn’t exactly a replacement for the event, as part of this announcement the developer talked about the 2012 Battle.net World Championship—a “major global eSports event” that will be taking place in Asia near the end of the year. Here, players will get the chance to participate in this year’s StarCraft II and World of Warcraft Arena World Championship tournaments.
It’s better than nothing, right?
So, if you’re sad that BlizzCon won’t be going on this year, you only have yourself to blame—Blizzard is too hard at work on bringing you Diablo III, Mists of Pandaria, and Heart of the Swarm! It’s all because you keep demanding that the company make games for you to play, you greedy person!
