THE BUZZ: The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has today released their rating summary for the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
WHAT WE KNOW: Just like the original Xbox version of Halo: Combat Evolved its remake has recieved an M (for Mature) rating by the ESRB due to content relating to Blood, Gore and Violence. You can check out their full summary below:
“This is an enhanced remake of the 2001 first-person shooter Halo: Combat Evolved. Players assume the role of Master Chief, a super-soldier who engages in futuristic battles against a powerful alien alliance. Players use plasma pistols, sniper rifles, machine guns, and rocket launchers to kill enemy creatures in frenetic combat. Firefights are accompanied by realistic gunfire, large explosions, and cries of pain. Frequent blood-splatter effects occur when enemies are shot, sometimes staining the surrounding environment; aliens often break into bloody fragments when killed.”
EGM’s TAKE: This was to be expected of the ESRB after the original also received an M rating, as 343 Industries claim not to have changed the story in any way.
