Borderlands 2

Gearbox has revealed that Borderlands 2‘s first campaign DLC, titled “Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty” will be releasing next week, bringing with it new enemies, vehicles, and more.

The DLC is set to release October 16 and features a new area called Oasis which is under the control of Captain Scarlett (Not the puppet, before anyone asks). “You can sense the pirate theme across the landscape, even though there’s no water,” Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford told Associated Press. “It’s all dried up. It feels more like Tatooine than an ocean. These bandits have really embraced the pirate lifestyle, and there’s the legend of a treasure. That kicks off this whole adventure that the players can go on.”

The DLC includes new enemies such as sand worms, new vehicles, and a new currency in the shape of Seraph Crystals. Several game files were uncovered for the DLC yesterday which also hint at extra head customizations, new bosses, and additional raids.

This DLC will be the first of four planned between now and June 2013, it will set you back 800 Microsoft Points ($9.99) or you can buy the DLC Season Pass and get all four for $29.99.
