EA wasn’t the only publisher talking about profits and pre-orders today, as Take-Two disclosed the success that Borderlands 2 is already seeing in the market.

In talking about the upcoming Gearbox FPS adventure game, Take-Two chief operating officer Karl Slatoff announced that “consumer anticipation is phenomenal”, and that the game now sits as the publisher’s third-highest pre-ordered release ever—just above Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Good for Gearbox and Take-Two. Borderlands 2 is looking to be a great expansion to what has quickly become an exciting new gaming franchise, so it’s nice to see consumers responding.
