Borderlands 2 Vita coming to Europe on May 28

The handheld version of Gearbox Software’s first-person shooter Borderlands 2 will be available in Europe from May 28, according to a post on the official PlayStation Europe Twitter account.

Players will be able to save their progress on the Vita and then pick up where they left on PlayStation 3, and vice versa, thanks to its cross-save functionality. The Vita version contains six pieces of DLC: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, the Psycho and Mechromancer classes, plus the Collector’s Edition bonus and Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1. However, it is missing Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt and Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, Upgrade Pack 2, and the Headhunter missions.

Yesterday, a Gearbox representative confirmed that cross-save functionality would be added to the North American Vita version with an upcoming update, presumably set to go live on May 13.
