Boss Key’s first project will be a free-to-play sci-fi arena shooter for PC

Posted on July 8, 2014 AT 11:30am

The first project from Cliff Bleszinski’s new studio Boss Key Productions will be a free-to-play sci-fi arena shooter, the company announced this morning on Twitter.

Codenamed “Blue Streak,” the arena shooter—which Bleszinski teased back in December 2013 on Kevin Pereira’s Pointless podcast—will be published by Nexon, the publisher behind developer Wizet’s free-to-play 2D side-scrolling MMORPG MapleStory.

Bleszinski will be answering fan questions tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. ET. The venue will be announced “shortly before” it begins, “like a pop up party.” According to the designer, we can expect answers as to why Blue Streak is F2P, PC-only, and why Boss Key signed on with Nexon as a publisher. Bleszinksi also promised that when the title is revealed it won’t be with “a fake CG trailer showing ‘gameplay’ because that’s not how @bosskey does it.”

Hopefully one of those answers will make clear whether this arena shooter will feature really tall basketball-player-looking athletes equipped with boost boots.
