Boxing Legend Mike Tyson Talks About WWE ’13, Living In The Attitude Era
Posted on September 4, 2012 AT 12:40pm
If you were a pro wrestling fan in the Attitude Era, you’re probably familiar with Mike Tyson’s role in hyping up WrestleMania XIV. It’s translated to a starring role in WWE ’13 for the Hall of Famer, and he’s tickled pink about it.
In the video below, WWE and famed producer Paul Heyman interviewed Tyson his cameo and how fondly he remembers being part of Degeneration X before double-crossing them in favor of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
Ironically enough, Tyson claims that he had no idea how important his cameos would be to the industry so many years down the line, especially with the WWE fan base still divided over the company going “PG” with their shows.
Despite his retirement from fighting, Mike Tyson hasn’t strayed too far from video games, professional wrestling, or combat sports in general. Aside from inspiring Street Fighter’s Balrog and making an appearance in Fight Night Round 4, the former heavyweight boxing champion is frequently seen at several UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) events.
‘Gotta say, those promos in the blooper footage are freakin’ gold.
Actually, I’m a little surprised that WWE would let that much cursing get on YouTube, even bleeped.
